Structured Finance Veteran and former Exelon Corp. and Constellation Principal Adds to Experienced Leadership Team at High-Growth, Multi-Technology Energy Solutions Provider
FREDERICK, MD – July 16th, 2015 – Empower Energies, Inc., a leading Clean Energy Portfolio Solutions company, announced that Khalil Qasimi has joined the organization as Senior Director, Structured Finance. Qasimi brings a unique combination of institutional finance experience and renewable energy expertise, joining a management team with established high-growth qualifications.
Working with Empower CFO John Clapp, Qasimi manages the company’s corporate capital initiatives, as well as mergers and acquisitions. Just as important, he will take a lead role in the development and deployment of Empower’s integrated finance facilities, providing a full, differentiated suite of capital for other developers and EPC firms with which Empower partners to bring projects online.

Qasimi has already enjoyed a distinguished career in finance. Most recently he served as Principal – Corporate Development at Exelon Corp. (NYSE: EXC), where he managed the merger and acquisition process for generation facilities. Previously he served as Principal – Distributed Generation and Solar Project Structuring at Constellation. There he managed structuring, financial modeling and valuation for the organization’s solar, combined heat & power (CHP), battery storage and other renewable energy projects.
Qasimi earned a bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Chicago, as well as an MBA and MS Finance from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. He started his career at Webster Capital LLC as a Derivatives Trader on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
